Take this opportunity to get to know our staff and the masterminds behind the amazing Sandi's Breads and their recipes.

Sandi’s Breads is a team effort. We all work together to bring you exceptional breads and pastries baked fresh with our fresh, stone-milled flours and wholesome ingredients.


Our mission is to provide our customers with the freshest, most nutritional and most flavorful product possible. We love to see your faces fill with surprise when you realize that whole wheat breads really can taste this good! We also love to hear your suggestions or your dreams of breads you’d like to have us make.

 

Proud supporter of the American Diabetes Association 2009 Tour de Cure.

We provided 650 specially baked and packaged Grab-A-Nola Bars for this event.

Tom Smith

 

Co-Owner/Baker; The BOSS

 

Background: Tom comes from a dairy background, having been raised on a local farm. He graduated with a degree in Dairy Science from Delaware Valley College and worked in the dairy industry for twenty-two years before becoming a full-time bakery owner. He and Sandi became full-time bakers together in 2006. Tom gets to learn and execute the recipes that Sandi develops. He mixes and bakes all of the European artisan breads that grace the shelves on Fridays and Saturdays. He is also responsible for the production scheduling and purchasing.

Sandi Smith

 

Co-Owner/Baker, R&D Department

 

Background: Sandi also has a degree in dairy science from Virginia Tech, but was not raised on a dairy farm. She spent time as an assistant magazine editor, technical writer and computer network administrator before becoming a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother of their four children. She began baking for a small local farmer’s market in 2002. Starting with a single variety of bread that first season (Plain Whole Wheat – that is now the variety from which the sandwich and slider rolls are now made), she added two more varieties the next year (Seed Loaf and Dill ‘n Veggie), and began testing Grab-A-Nola recipes on their son’s baseball team the next spring (the name is some of Tom’s creative genius). Sandi is primarily responsible for recipe development and sales.

Crissy

 

Baker of Cakes and Other Sweet Treats

 

Background: Cristine is our newest baker, having joined us late in 2013, just in time to gear up for the holidays and the accompanying pumpkin roll production. She hails from a commercial food production environment and does a wonderful job with cakes and customers, alike. She quickly came up to speed on all things “cake” and has progressed to producing a variety of the sweet treats that we offer.

Leah

 

All-Around Bakery Assistant, Mistress of the Best High-Five

 

Background: Leah was our Employee of the Month for a number of months in 2013. She continues to be a terrific assistant in the bakery during production afternoons. Leah helps with packaging, cleaning, folding boxes, and other assorted tasks. Her high-fives and joyful smiles are a delight throughout the week.
